David St. Jean joined the firm in 2008 to establish a global technology advisory practice. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. St. Jean was Joint Head of Technology Investment Banking at UBS in the Americas. Mr. St. Jean was one of the primary drivers behind the significant growth of UBS' market share in technology mergers & acquisitions advising on several of the largest transactions completed by the firm in that area. Prior to UBS, Mr. St. Jean was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns where he founded the Communications Technology Investment Banking practice. Mr. St. Jean commenced his investment banking career in mergers and acquisitions at Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc. in 1987. During his 25 year career, Mr. St Jean has provided numerous companies on a wide range of advisory, restructuring and capital raising activities and has completed over $50 billion in transactions. Select advisory assignments include representing Cisco Systems in its $6.9 billion acquisition of Scientific Atlanta; Redback in its $2.1 billion sale to Ericsson; Arris Corporation in its acquisition of C-Cor; AFC Communications in its $1.6 billion merger with Tellabs; and Avaya in its $1 billion recapitalization. In addition, he has completed multiple financing, defense and advisory transactions for other notable technology clients such as Xerox, Motorola and Lucent.
Mr. St. Jean received his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and his BA with distinction from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Mr. St Jean is on the Board of Leaders for the USC Marshall School of Business. Mr. St. Jean started his career in 1982 with Arthur Andersen & Company and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
