Mark Robinson joins Centerview Partners after over 12 years with Merrill Lynch in San Francisco where he had been a Global Co-Head of Healthcare Investment Banking for the last six of those years. Mr. Robinson came to Merrill Lynch in 1998 to build the biotechnology and medical devices investment banking efforts after working for five years at CS First Boston and Robertson Stephens. Under Mr. Robinson’s leadership, Merrill Lynch raised more capital for biotechnology companies than any other investment bank in the history of the industry. Over a 16 year career, Mr. Robinson has advised many of the leading biotechnology and medical device companies including Amgen, Medtronic, Gilead, Celgene, Vertex, Illumina, PDL, OSI, Onyx, Biomain, Icos, Theravance, Resmed, Kinetic Concepts, and Genprobe. Notable landmark transactions include working for: Immunex in its $16 billion sale to Amgen, IDEC in its $7 billion merger with Biogen, and Boston Scientific in its $25 billion acquisition of Guidant.
Mr. Robinson currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the U.C. Berkeley Foundation.
Mr. Robinson received his B.A. from the University of California Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
