Anthony Y. Kim

Co-President of Investment Banking
Tony Kim is Co-President of Investment Banking at Centerview Partners LLC, a leading independent investment bank, and was part of the founding team at the firm’s creation in 2006.

Mr. Kim has spent his 25+ year career focused on strategic advice and M&A across a broad range of sectors, including consumer products, retail, technology, media, energy, oil and gas, industrials, healthcare, and financial institutions. He has executed over $750 billion in transactions over the course of his career. Selected assignments include advising Exxon Mobil on its $65bn merger with Pioneer Natural Resources, FIS on its $19bn sale of Worldpay to GTCR, Cerner on its $29bn sale to Oracle, Tiffany on its $17bn sale to LVMH, CVS on its $77bn acquisition of Aetna, General Electric on its $32 billion merger of its oil and gas business with Baker Hughes and its $35 billion exit of GE Capital, Kraft on its $58 billion merger with Heinz, Duke Energy on its discussions with shareholder activist Elliott Management, ExxonMobil on its proxy contest with Engine No. 1, Kimberly-Clark on its acquisition of Softex Indonesia, Weber on its sale to BDT, Sovos on its sale to Campbell Soup, C&S on its acquisition of divested stores in the Kroger’s merger with Albertsons, Hasbro on its sale of Entertainment One’s film and television business, and Kind on its strategic partnership with Mars.

Other transactions include advising Altria on its $113 billion spin-off of Philip Morris International, its $62 billion spin-off of Kraft Foods and its $12 billion acquisition of UST; InBev on its $52 billion acquisition of Anheuser-Busch; Kraft Foods on its $30 billion spin-off of its North American grocery business, its $22 billion acquisition of Cadbury and its $19 billion acquisition of Nabisco; General Electric on its $18 billion sale of NBC Universal to Comcast and its $14 billion acquisition of Alstom; Alliance Boots on its $30 billion two-step sale to Walgreens; CSX on its $10 billion acquisition of Conrail; News Corporation on its $6 billion acquisition of Dow Jones; and Big Heart Pet Brands on its $6 billion sale to The J.M. Smucker Company.

Mr. Kim has been profiled in business publications including the New York Times, the Financial Times and Business Insider. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Lazard and Wasserstein Perella & Co. He is a member of the Board of Directors at Greater NY, The Korea Society, Lincoln Center, and Prep for Prep. Mr. Kim holds a B.S. and B.A. from The Wharton School and the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
