David Hess is a member of the firm’s technology investment banking team. He has almost 30 years of experience assisting companies on a wide range of strategic matters.

Representative transactions include: $146 billion merger of Sprint (Independent Committee) and T-Mobile; $14 billion sale of Clearwire (Special Committee) to Sprint; separation of Xerox (Independent Committee) into two independent companies; $10 billion acquisition of Worldpay by Vantiv; $7.5 billion merger of Grubhub and Just Eat Takeaway.com; $7.2 billion sale of Squarespace (Special Committee) to Permira; $6.5 billion sale of Solera (Special Committee) to Vista; $5.3 billion sale of MICROS Systems to Oracle; $5.2 billion sale of Cornerstone OnDemand to Clearlake; $5.1 billion sale of West Corporation to Apollo; $4.1 billion sale of Perot Systems to Dell; $2.7 billion sale of Cision to Platinum; $2.7 billion acquisition of TriZetto by Cognizant; $2.3 billion sale of Rover to Blackstone; $1.7 billion acquisition of MTS Systems by Amphenol; $1.7 billion sale of HireRight (Special Committee) to General Atlantic and Stone Point; $1.4 billion sale of TripleLift to Vista; Cornerstone OnDemand’s acquisitions of Saba ($1.3 billion) and SumTotal ($200 million); $1.2 billion sale of Unisys U.S. Federal business to SAIC; PTC’s acquisitions of ServiceMax ($1.5 billion), Arena Solutions ($715 million), Intland Software ($280 million) and pure-systems; and Motorola Solutions’ acquisition of Rave Mobile Safety.

Prior to joining Centerview in 2011, David spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as a Managing Director with responsibility for the firm’s software and IT services investment banking practice. He began his career at Schroder & Co.

David received a B.S., magna cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Executive Committee and former President of the Board of Trustees of the Abraham Joshua Heschel School; a member of the Executive Committee of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation; a Board member of Wharton’s McNulty Leadership Program; and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. David and his wife live in New York City and have three children.
