During his 35 year career, David St. Jean has worked with numerous companies on a wide range of advisory, restructuring and capital raising activities and has completed over $200 billion in transactions. Select advisory assignments include advising Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) on its $43 billion acquisition of Worldpay, the largest financial technology transaction in history, its $9.1 billion acquisition of Sunguard and the majority sale of its Capco business, advising Qualcomm on Strategic Alternatives, advising Motorola's Board of Directors in connection with the $10 billion spinoff of its Mobility & Connected Home businesses and the $1.4 billion sale of Motorola's wireless infrastructure business to Nokia Siemens Networks, advising the Board of Motorola Mobility in its $12.5 billion sale to Google, advising SilverLake on the $25 billion acquisition of Dell, advising the board of JDSU in the spinoff of its optical components business (Lumentum), advising DTS on the acquisitions of iBiquity and SRS Labs and subsequent sale to Tessera Technologies, Advising Tessera (renamed Xperi) on its merger wtih Tivo and supsequent spinoff of its Adeia Division. Advising Metaswitch in its 2020 sale to Microsoft. Advising Cisco Systems on more than $15 billion in numerous including the $6.9 acquisition of Scientific Atlanta; Sonic Wall in its 2010 LBO by Thoma Bravo and subsequent resale to Dell in 2012, Redback in its $2.1 billion sale to Ericsson; Arris Corporation in its acquisition of C-Cor and BigBand on its 2011 sale to Arris; AFC Communications in its $1.6 billion merger with Tellabs; and Avaya in its $1 billion recapitalization. In addition, he has completed multiple financing, defense and advisory transactions for other notable technology clients such as Xerox, Huawei and Lucent.

Mr St. Jean joined Centerview in 2008 to establish its West Coast presence and he was a founding partner of the Centerview Capital Technology Fund where he sits on the investment committee. Prior to joining Centerview Mr. St. Jean was Joint Head of Technology Investment Banking at UBS in the Americas where he significantly increased UBS' market share in technology related mergers & acquisitions. Prior to UBS, Mr. St. Jean was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns where he was responsible for Technology Investment Banking. Mr. St. Jean commenced his investment banking career in mergers and acquisitions at Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc. in 1987. Mr. St. Jean was recently named one of the world’s top technology bankers by the Financial Times.

Mr. St. Jean received his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and his BA with distinction from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Mr. St. Jean is on the Board of Leaders for the USC Marshall School of Business where he is a frequent guest lecturer. Mr. St. Jean started his career in 1982 with Arthur Andersen & Company and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
