Kathryn Night is a Partner at Centerview in the firm’s New York office. She has more than 15 years of experience in shareholder activism, contested situations, and M&A, with deep expertise across a broad range of shareholder advisory, strategic IR, crisis management, and corporate governance matters.
Kathryn advises across regions and sectors on activism preparedness and defense, investor perspectives on M&A and strategic actions and complex ESG and corporate governance matters. She has extensive knowledge of active and passive investors and works with companies to help management teams and boards build and deepen relationships with their institutional investors in peacetime as part of a broader focus on preparedness, and in navigating complex and contentious situations.
Throughout her career, she has represented companies in public and private activism campaigns against all major activists. Prior to joining Centerview, Kathryn was a Managing Director at Lazard, where she advised clients on activism defense, contested M&A, and shareholder advisory matters. Earlier in her career, she worked at CamberView Partners and played a key role in building the firm until its acquisition by PJT Partners.
Kathryn began her career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs, and received a B.A. in chemistry and philosophy from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. She lives in New York City with her husband and three daughters.
