Mark Doramus began his career at Centerview Partners in 2009. He has provided transaction execution and strategic advice to a wide range of clients, with an emphasis on the Consumer sector. He has executed over $175bn of M&A transactions, with additional experience across portfolio review and strategic planning assignments, special committee and board advisory, investor communication strategies and activism defense.
Representative transactions in the Consumer sector include advising: PepsiCo on its $3.3bn divestiture of Tropicana, $4bn acquisition of Rockstar Energy, $550mm structured investment in Celsius, among other assignments; Kraft on its $58bn merger with Heinz; KIND Snacks on its structured transaction with Mars; The Simply Good Foods Company on its $1bn acquisition of Quest Nutrition; Chobani on its minority investment from the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (“HOOPP”); the Shareholders of Refresco on their sale to KKR; Lorillard on its $27bn sale to Reynolds American, and the related divestiture of certain assets to Imperial Tobacco; Harry’s on its $1.4bn planned sale to Edgewell; and Reckitt on its acquisition of Biofreeze and sale of Scholl to Yellow Wood. Selected activism defense assignments include advising McDonald’s, International Flavors & Fragrances and PepsiCo.
Outside of the Consumer sector, transactions include advising: Mylan on its $25bn merger with Upjohn, $10bn acquisition of Meda, $5bn acquisition of Abbott's non-U.S. developed markets specialty and branded generics business, and $750mm acquisition of Famy Care; Dentsply Sirona on its $1.0bn acquisition of Byte; Valeant, on its $820mm sale of Dendreon to Sanpower Group; and, Emerson Electric, on the sale of its industrial automation assets, Leroy Somer and Control Techniques, to Nidec Corp. for $1.2bn.
Mr. Doramus received his A.B. from Princeton University, with a degree in Public Policy (Princeton School of Public and International Affairs). He is an active volunteer with New York Cares, New York City's largest volunteer organization, where he serves on the executive committee of the Rising Leader’s Council.
