For more than 25 years, Nicolas Constant has advised corporate and private equity funds on strategic M&A with a focus on consumer, retail and corporate services. Selected recent experience includes advising L’Oréal for numerous transactions such as the acquisitions of Aesop, Clarins fragrances, Valeant Pharmaceuticals skincare brands (notably CeraVe), the negotiation of the Giorgio Armani license, the disposal of The Body Shop to Natura, the acquisition of IT Cosmetics. Additional experience in the consumer space includes advising Kering on the acquisitions of Creed and minority stake in Valentino, on the separation with Stella McCartney, the acquisition of Aryzta’s stake in Picard Surgelés by the Zouari family and advising Darty PLC in its acquisition by Fnac. In corporate services, Mr. Constant notably advised Sodexo in numerous acquisitions in the USA, Latin America and Asia. Mr. Constant has advised many of the largest private equity funds in landmark transactions in France such as the acquisition of Elsan and C2S by KKR, the acquisition of April by KKR, the disposal of Etanco by ICG to Simpson Manufacturing, the disposal of Parex by CVC to Sika, the Public to Private of April by CVC, the disposal of Kiloutou by PAI Partners to HLD, the disposal of Albea by Sun Capital to PAI Partners, the disposal of Alliance Automotive by its founders and Blackstone to Genuine Parts or the acquisition of ADB Safegate by Carlyle.
Mr. Constant joined Centerview in 2020 as a Partner to open the office in Paris and develop Centerview’s client base in Continental Europe. Before joining Centerview, Mr. Constant was a Partner at Lazard Frères in Paris where he spent 15 years in advising clients in France. Mr. Constant started his career at Schroders and spent 6 years at Citigroup both in Paris and New York.
Mr. Constant is a graduate from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris. He lives in Paris with his wife and four children.
