UK MODERN SLAVERY ACT TRANSPARENCY STATEMENT – FINANCIAL YEAR 2021
Background
This Statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the “Act”) and constitutes the Transparency Statement for Centerview Partners UK LLP (“CPUK”) for the financial year ending 31 March 2021.
CPUK is a private, independent financial advisory firm.
Staff profile and recruitment practices
We have rigorous human resources (“HR”) policies and procedures in place which are consistent with our obligations under the Act. We seek the most highly qualified candidates who are generally aware of their employee and human rights and we subject permanent employees and consultants to the same background checks. We will continue to adhere to our stringent HR standards, thereby limiting the risk of modern slavery in our business operations.
Supply Chain
In carrying out its business, CPUK engages third party suppliers such as regulated professional advisers, property management services, IT services, catering services, cleaning services, goods suppliers, utility providers and transportation providers. As a leading financial advisory firm, we are committed to acting within the highest standards of ethical behaviour, including how we select our suppliers.
Response
CPUK conducts an annual modern slavery risk assessment on our supply chain. We use the risk assessment to identify potential exposures to modern slavery risk. The key factors in our risk assessment are: (i) the sector in which a supplier operates; and (ii) the jurisdiction where the supplier is incorporated and/or has significant operations.
Our findings show that all of our suppliers are low-risk, primarily because we only engage reputable suppliers based in the UK, which is a low risk jurisdiction according to the Global Slavery Index. Our top five (5) suppliers by expenditure for the financial year ending 31 March 2021 were a property management provider, a healthcare provider, an accounting firm and human resources advisers. Based on our findings of low-risk exposure to modern slavery, we have not undertaken any specific steps to verify that none of CPUK’s current suppliers are involved in slavery and human trafficking.
CPUK is committed to a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery.
Next steps and ongoing work
The risk assessment we have completed will be repeated in each financial year in order to ensure that our exposure to modern slavery risk is assessed regularly. We will continue to apply a risk-based approach to determine whether any changes are necessary to our modern slavery due diligence process on third party suppliers. We will continue to monitor developments in this area, including the new Government guidance in relation to the new Government modern slavery statement registry.
This Modern Slavery Transparency Statement has been approved by members of CPUK.
